Prior to this summer there were two ongoing stories in football which made me feel like living under a giant rock until they were resolved. The first was Fabregas's protracted on/off transfer to Barcelona, which was eventually resolved and he is now happily bumbling around the Ramblas. The second was Tevez's ongoing self-contradictory. He wants to go to Argentina to be with his family. Then he wants to go to Inter Milan, which last time I checked, despite my poor geographic knowledge, wasn't closer to Buenos Aires than Manchester. Then he wanted to go to Brazil. Then Spain. Then came Munich, and his decision to strike. Seriously, this needs to end and end soon.
The man makes more money than God and could retire tomorrow with no long term financial implications other than loss of even more income. I've been to Argentina and I can tell you now that the man could already live like a King. I saw Dean Ashton on TV the other day. He was forced to retire at 27 and earned a fraction of what Tevez has earned. Yet he clearly stated that he has enough money to live on for the rest of his life from what he was paid over his short career. Tevez needs to take a shit or get off the pot. Either knuckle down and play or go to the club who offers you the quickest route back to Argentina. Jesus, if Boca Juniors, for example, came in for him they would still pay him around £40,000 a week. Yes it is 1/5 of what he earns now but any income from this point on is just further luxury anyway.
Mancini and Man CIty need to make a stand. Don't let him in the training facility, fine him as many times as much as possible, and let him sell himself in the January window. Despite his loathsome personality there will undoubtedly be a number of clubs willing to take him for £25million in January, such is his impact when he's actually ON the pitch. How ironic would it be if he ended up at Bayern Munich?
